Is there any way, outside of inactivating the sub or scripting/workflow, to block transactions from going to the primary subsidiary on a customer/vendor once you've added a secondary sub? We bought out a company a few years ago and they are a separate sub in NS so there are some customers and vendors with [old sub] as primary. Now we're consolidating operations and rolling nearly all transactions into our main sub and we'd prefer to keep the same customer/vendor records, add main sub to them, and block them from being used for [old sub] transactions.
We still do need to do some monthly entries for some compliance stuff on [old sub], so we can't inactivate it. For continuity/history, we'd prefer not to create separate new customer and vendor records with our main sub as primary. I know we could do the merge trick, but you can't do that en masse as far as I'm aware. It would be a pretty easy workflow I think to just set our main sub as the sub on all transactions, but kind of annoying to have to do.
