I have a saved search on system notes, that I can see as Admin but user cannot. would this be a permission issue?

Can't see the data on the saved search, or can't see the saved search itself?

which permission though doesn't make sense, they do have notes Tab permission

and then I think they'll also need the permission to the underlying record

it's from item record, they have that as well

e.g. if it's system notes on the JE, they need JE permissions

yeah this is on custom record though, let me see if they have that permission
the funny thing is it was working earlier

ugh, I hate custom record permissions. they've never worked right or been documented properly. the field-level help is straight up incorrect (or at least was a few years ago the last time I tested it in-depth with support)
if it's not the custom record permissions, the only other thing I could think would be search permissions themselves (like find transaction, perform search, publish search, etc.)

it has access to custom record entries

and did you add the specific custom record to the role as well? custom records are definitely a PITA and like to be wonky

yes that custom record is added to the role

yeah, I'd check the search permissions too, but that's all I can possibly think of

perform search is full permission
and publish search is full as well
