Hi, Is there a way to decrease an asset’s NBV? How can I do this? For example, I have an asset with a current NBV of 13,494.42. I want to deduct 10,810.94 from the asset NBV to show the NBV of 2,683.48. Can you please share the steps to do this? Is it possible to do it via asset write-off or asset revalue? If so, please share the steps clearly. I don’t want to calculate the write down on the current cost; I just want to decrease the NBV.

You need to increase cumulative depreciation then the NBV will decreased But you need to follow this : https://www.process.st/how-to/edit-cumulative-depreciation-in-netsuite/

Thank you very much. I will try it and let you know.
@Marc - I edited the cumulative depreciation, updated the NBV, and ran the depreciation. But, it didn’t run the depreciation on the new NBV. It ran on the old NBV only.

I think you need to edit the asset after you changed the Cumulative Depreciation and set the depreciation active field to false ( general subtab) . After that you need to reset the asset value in system setup. In second time reupdate the asset and change the value in depreciation active field to true and precompute value in system set up

Just revalue the asset, easier. just fill out the screen fields, then run your processes.
