When Scheduling Reports we used to be able to free type in copied email addresses. Now the email table only allows the selection of emails from existing entities. We now can only choose main email addresses, not contacts. The email address field is now a greyed out field.
i
did you get a resolution on this? went to add a recipient to one of our scheduled reports and noticed the same behavior.
n
Nothing. Seems to have been a change at some point.

Yep, just got a response from NS support confirming it's an issue. But doesn't look like it's a defect, i thin it's a new "feature" Good day! I coordinated your case with the internal team, I found out that your concern should be handled by a different team, which is the ERP team. However, they confirmed that your concern is part of an ongoing issue “756695 Reports > Schedule Report > Email Field Greyed out”. They greyed out the email field for security reasons, the security team has identified the possibility to edit the email address with any arbitrary email as possibly a security spam attack. They provided an alternate solution for this concern To send the report to outsiders, create Contact records and add them to a Group. A. Create a Contact Record 1. Go to Lists > Relationships > Contacts > New. 2. Enter details for Name and Email Address. 3. Click Save. Do this for other external contacts for the report. B. Create Group 1. Go to Lists > Relationships > Groups > New. 2. You may select Dynamic if your recipients are changing. But for this example, we will use Static. 3. On "What kind of members would you like to include?", set it to Contact. 4. Click Continue. 5. Add details to Name. 6. Under Members tab > Group Members > Select the Contact record created above and click the Add button. 7. Click Save. Sending Report Email to a Group: 1. Open the report > Click Email Icon. 2. On the Email Report pop-up form > Recipients > Copy Others. 3. Type the name of the Group you created. Note: The email address will be blank. 4. Click Send. Since your concern is part of an ongoing issue, we will be closing this case. We understand that this might affect your daily work, but rest assured that we will do our best to make your day-to-day tasks much easier. Thank you for understanding. Regards,
Their alternate solution did not work for me, i got the following error when trying to update the scheduled report after adding the new group

It doesn’t make sense does it? And why close the case if it’s part of an ongoing investigation. I’ll get. Case lodged as well

@Israel Gonzalez did you find a resolution to this?
i
@MGBC nope, still having an issue with this when trying to send to a contact email address, luckily only seems to be affecting one report since most our other reports are either sent internally or to a customer record. so ended up redoing it as a saved search in order to be able to send to a contact. are you experiencing the same?
just got this link from our ACS team, pretty much sums up what we went through. Their "workaround" of creating a group does not work. https://community.oracle.com/netsuite/english/discussion/4491119/send-scheduled-report-to-email-not-in-netsuite

Yeah I read an article that states in the latest release you have to add emails as contacts for security purposes But then now you can’t even select contacts in the list of recipients, only customers, vendors, partners and groups So then this group workaround thing was created but I’ve heard mixed reviews on if it’s successful or not
i
yes, i understand removing the ability to hardcode the email address, but not supporting contacts is absurd. and yes from personal testing the groups has not worked out, it only sends the email to the group email not the individual contacts which defeats the purpose of having a group
m
Yeah I think we ended up making a static group for each contact which was annoying. Luckily it was only a handful of them
