I heard a rumour Oracle will drop SDF plugin for WebStorm and only support VSCode. Has anyone heard anything about this?

Sounds like 'rumor' applies. I can't imagine this would change without a LOT of advanced notice.

It's from the same guy that was hell bent on getting me to use VSCode like the rest of his team
The skeptic in me thought I'd ask here.

Webstorm SDF capabilities is built out a lot more from what i've heard.
c
Yes, WebStorm is a much better implementation of the SDF plugin

I know every NS person uses VS Code so it wouldn't suprise me. Its also a good IDE. I just hope they build up VS code before doing this
would kind of be a bad move to just abandon webstorm though. If it already works its just a matter of support

Support and upgrades
I tired to get comfortable with VSCode but it's like going from race car to a family sedan

Last I looked at the VS Code version there still wasn't an easy "compare file with account" feature like in the Webstorm version. That's enough to keep me in Webstorm.

what do you call easy? It’s not under the Command+P (on Mac) options, but is available when right-clicking on files!
actually, it’s Command+Shift+P and I stand corrected. Hadn’t noticed it there before!

That's newer than the last time I checked. Is that the NetSuite plugin or from a third party? It's Alt+Shift+E in Webstorm and I use it all the time! Uploading a file/files is Alt+Shift+U and is equally helpful!

Oracle SuiteCloud v1.5.1 I believe you can configure your own shortcuts in VSCode, though I haven’t for this yet

that’s what the ⚙️ is for in that screenshot earlier, Keybinding

I imagine the fact that SDF and Webstorm share Java underpinnings is an advantage for Webstorm in this situation. Frankly, I don't use the plugin much in either VSCode or Webstorm, preferring the CLI most of the time.

Hello As of today, we don't have any plans to deprecate the WebStorm plug-in, so unless your sources have access to a highly secret plan that we are not aware of, you shouldn't worry about it. 😜 Rest assured that if we decide to stop the support of a product in the future (it is not the case right now), we will notify you at least 1 year in advance, like we did with the Eclipse plug-in.
