Has anyone encountered items that have a higher quantity on hand in bins vs the on hand quantity that displays for that location?
I adjusted out all of the inventory from the bins using an IA. After that I had a negative on hand at the location and nothing in bins. I disabled bins for that single item and then used another IA to adjust in the negative quantity. After enabling bins the quantities match again. This looks correct at a glance but my gut tells me this is not the right way to fix it. Anyone have any better ideas? Or confirmation that this wrong-feeling way is actually correct?
The value at that location is still calculating as if the 'negative' quantity is there. So not a complete fix, still stumped Edit: value displays correctly as 0 now, forgot it takes an hour for that to update. Still not sure if this is the technically correct solution though.

Yes, that is how you fix this. It is caused by either the bin putaway worksheet or someone deleted a transaction along the way and didn't delete the associated bin transfer.

Thanks for the sanity check

Haha, i've been there. It happens all the time at my work. Our accounting team likes to delete item receipts after an order is shipped and then receive them into a different bin.

@virtualEncoreTremor - that is how you can get it corrected for the variance mismatch between the Inventory Detail (Bins) and the Location level for the on-hand qtys. Sounds like you don't have Lot or Serialized inventory or you would have really been in for a treat trying to trace back all those negatives to the day and the root cause transaction that caused them to go negative lol.
