what are people generally using/can recommend for automating account reconciliation and close management? Slack Conversation

Its a fast evolving area with some new players (AI etc.) - I won't namedrop or comment since I have no experience with them but I would say the leader is Blackline, I have seen Adra do some very nice things with very high volumes as well. I think the built-in tools haver improved massively but renaming the bank rec account rec is downright off, its really not a good generic balance reconciliation tool and especially workflow is very limited. What you can do with out of the box tools is use the (beta) auto-matching functionality now available and use calendar/tasks to structure close timeline. The reality for many companies will involve other systems as well so an external tool makes a lot of sense. Blackline also has the advantage that most auditors know it well and trust it, but it is expensive.
