I am trying to perform a Mass Update (specific type in screenshot below) but there seems to be a tab / menu item missing (also shown below). Arguably the most important tab, actually. Has anyone else run into this potential defect?
d
what type of mass update is the second one? I suspect it's not one of the "general updates" ones that allow you to set fields, and instead is one of the native, specialized updates that perform a specific task Maybe if I just read I would see that it's a "Change Item Units of Measure on Assembly/Bill of Materials" update
r
It is referenced in the support material so I assumed it was a viable solution?
Ah just saw the edit, yes that's correct.
d
yeah, I can't find any documentation on what it actually does going to check SA, brb
nope, SA has nothing either
care to test it out in your own sandbox and report back? 😅

I am in sandbox for the screengrabs haha, it will run when I hit perform, but it's almost like it functions as a saved search? For the life of me I can't figure out what it could possibly be changing haha.
It populates results, but without affecting them in any perceivable way.
d
thinking that given the checkbox option for "Update Historical Revisions", maybe it updates the components' UoM on the BOM if the component's UoM (stock unit?) has changed?
right, consumption unit
r
That is what I would like to use it for actually, but whether the box is checked or not it doesn't seem to take an action, only poops out the results as if searched for. Filters don't seems to affect ability to perform an action.
d
yeah, 💯 agree with you on all that. I think you should log a ticket with NS (and report back 😁)
r
And yes I selected consumption as that's the issue that brought me looking at the mass updater, but seems to not function no matter which UOM I filter for.

Haha will do, I'll make sure to update.
Thanks for taking the time to investigate, appreciated.
