@User2351 - It is really clunky but the work around is to create an "other record" field for the Role record. Create a List with different Departments where you would segregate out Roles deeper. Ex. IT Dept, AR Dept, AP Dept, Receiving, Shipping, Procurement, etc. Then assign each Role to the values on the List you created. Then create a Saved Mass Update and that "other record" field you created will be visible on the Mass Update to filter and criteria specific users in bulk per dept if that makes sense.
