We have a very basic ARM setup. Orders are not recognized until the items are fulfilled (ecom). I have recently noticed the the Arrangements for Package/Kit item types do not 'Start'. The Revenue Plan Status stays in "Not Started" status forever and no plans are generated. The kit and child items are all Rev Rec Rule (On Fulfillment), Rev Rec Forecast (One-time direct), Create Revenue Plans on (Fulfillment). Must Kits be handled differently? I did also notice a Rev. Arrangement Message with an Error type, for "The calculated amount of this arrangement is zero and cannot be allocated".
Did find a SuiteAnswer about a defect for this Message Error: https://suiteanswers.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/72349/loc/en_US

Since the sales price is at the kit parent level, the children don't actually have an associated sales price. There is some nuance to using kits with ARM so I'd recommend looking through additional help articles: https://suiteanswers.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/106587/loc/en_US This is a common use case for the GroupSum formula to allocate a proportion of the Kit disc sales price to each of the components

I took a look at this and the arrangement a bit closer. On the Arrangement, I manually used the Fair Value Override checkbox and Calculated Fair Value Amount input, and then was able to allocate and generate revenue plans. This sounds like what would need to be done moving forward with kits?

You have to make sure allocation is set properly as well, as in should it pull from kit or from the children - in general, if you have automation enabled you should make a habit of (or instruct Finance to do it) checking the logs with some frequency. If you run it manually, then that is easier to fit into the process, the automated options runs it every 3 hours.

Ours runs every 3 or 4 hours. I forget the frequency.
I just ran it through the revrec schedule manually. It looks good. Now just need to script something to try and auto-update these arrangements when a kit is found, I suppose.

there is a setting at the item level a check box that says explode the bundle for lack of a better term on the arrangement I would have to look at your set up this can happen for a number of reasons. I tested kits in an environment that had a customization for "list price" which was presumably the SSP for that particular SKU, I plugged that in allocation went by that., Anyway would have to look but on your kits chech out that check box, the result is a super lengthy revenue arrangement but no script required

They are already expanded. I created a search to catch these on a weekly basis.
