You have a different join on JEs - I believe it's "Name" or something like that.

The Category is a separate field from the customer name field. We're already using the name field in the JE. What I want to know is if NS is intelligent enough to be able to pull the Category from the associated customer record.
k
@MaryPeace - yes it is. Find Customer… in your search and there pick Category
m
To clarify again, I already have category selected in my search, but it doesn't pull in categories from a GJ. I think Suitestallion is on the right track. But I haven't added a customer field to a form in a while so will have to relearn that
k
What is in the name field on the JE? Is that the name of the customer that has the category?
if there's a join to the customer - it's just a matter of finding the right one on your saved search (I'd start with "entity" or "name" field joins to pull in that category field
c
Not sure what the issue is here. I made a transaction search, Type = JE, Customer Category is an available search column without a join...are we certain the customer category is populated on said records?
k
Except it's not populated because it's not a customer field on the JE that the customer is in - it's the "entity"/"name" field instead
so that won't get any values in it
c
You mean the drop down menu on the line right? I'd swear thats where my test data was set
