Hello all, what is the best way is to enter unallocated cash on the A/R as an opening balance? Is there a way of putting this on as a receipt but without impacting other accounts? Or should it be put on as a credit?
o
Hi Lee, do you mean "extra" cash that a Customer paid and that cash doesn't currently go to pay any invoice? Basically, the important part being that the cash belongs to a known customer?

@Olivier Gagnon (DXC) yes the cash belongs to a known customer but currently doesnt go to an invoice

You have options. Unapplied Payments will do the job, though the GL of that is simply negative A/R. You can alternatively convert them as Credit Memos, or as Deposits (this will make it go to Liability rather than negative AR)
Basically comes down to how you'd like to record the GL Impact

I will check with the FD, thank you so much for this
