If I search a transaction number in global search, is it possible to get the list of suggested results to show all of the related records of the transaction I am searching for? In other words, if I search a sales order number, can I get the global search to show me the related item fulfillment, invoice, deposit, etc?

Nope. But you should be able to build a search for it that you can toss on dashboards.
