Does anyone know how to alter the item search when adding an item to a form (anything inventory related), I would like to be able to filter by more fields like UPC or Brand
I found an article online about how to change it, but it doesn’t work and I dont understand why

Is the search public?
and did you assign it as the preferred search form on the roles tab?
and did you add your fields as filters, or criteria?

Search form should be the field that drives it
Although I'm looking at your setup
and I think I see an issue - you have it defined as the global preferrred search form and results - but you then also applied role specific
In general when I see someone do something like that, it breaks. So i would suggest unchecking it from your role specific lines

Feel free to share more screenshots of your results/filters page - maybe something will jump out at me, but if you've done all that, only thing I can imagine goofing you is needing a cache refresh - see if it works in a different browser.
