We sell items through Home Depot, Walmart, etc. They are created as Customers in our account. We have different item prices for these two Customers. Is it better to create 2 Price Levels such as Walmart and Home Depot to define the prices per item? Or is it better to use the Customer-specific Pricing in the customer record where an item is mapped to a price there?

We moved away from Customer Specific Pricing to Price Levels exclusively. Customer Specific Pricing overrides everything else and uses 'Custom' as the price level. We don't allow Custom pricing without approval.

Any other pain point due to customer specific pricing? We don't have approval for custom pricing, so it doesn't matter to us. Just want to make sure that I am not missing something that isn't obvious. Thanks, by the way.

Just make sure you keep a tight control over it. I think users with edit rights on customers can choose any price they want on the customer record.

You can not apply quantity pricing on customer specific pricing.

That's interesting. Thank you! It appears that price levels are a little bit better.
