Hello all! I would like to make the Customer Billing zip code available in Global Search. Well I've found a "solution" into the suite answer but It's not really practical in my particular case scenario. Actually It's pretty lame to create an additional Entity Field like they are suggesting and I know It will just create problems and confusions. What do you think?

Why would you want that to be global searchable?

Well It seems that's what our customer service department wants. They are used to use the Zip code to find order and customer in our legacy system. I actually wonder what could be the reasons It is no searchable by default. I'll be glad to know more, why wouldn't you want that to be global searchable? (im not trying to argue, just to learn more :P)

Because you'll get every customer in that zip on your results. Which makes it a meaningless search tool

I'd suggest creating a customer saved search with zip code as an available filter and directing them to use that rather than polluting the global search.
