hello to all, I am not yet an expert on the manufacturing part, however I have a question. We have sales orders using assembly items (in my example we have 100 of them and they are available in the location selected on the SO). I don't want to create a work order because my assembly items are all available so I create SO without WO in the line . However on my SO line, I see that I have 0 qty committed. Even when the articles are committed, I cannot perform an item fulfillment because I’m unable to select a serial/lot number on the item fulfillment. Someone please help me

Do you use pick, pack, ship feature?
r
Do you have the item flagged as a Special Work Order item?
If so, remove that flag based upon your description. Special Work Order items are "Make-to-Order" versus Make-to-Stock then utilizing the stock as you're explaining. Special Work Order items will only commit items from the Work Order that are created from the Sales Order.

Thank @Rich Keller
I understand better but in my case if in general, this assemby item must be Make-to-Order and exceptionally I want to use available stock without creating WO I just have to uncheck this box exceptionally and then check it again ? or not ?
r
Then you control it transactionally with the Create WO check box on the SO line. Another option is to use Reorder Points replenishment method of 0 min 0 max and 0 safety stock then when you're ready to create an aggregated work order of all demand, go to the Mass Create Work Orders transaction. NetSuite will see you have 0 and a demand for X then create a work order for X units.

I did that ( uncheck box on the SO Line). And during my fulfillment, I'm unable to select a serial/lot number on the item fulfillment.

Those quantities might be committed to another sales order try to reallocate

If there was a previous WO created from the SO, then that WO needs to be deleted first. Allocation is tied directly to the WO, even if unlinked.
