Do you have "Allow Override" enabled under Set Up Auto-Generated Numbers?

yes, it is set to allow
could it be a user editied it on an invoice or something?

Two people happen to open up ‘new’ invoice at the same time. I recall There is a warning when the second person goes to save the duplicate.

I'm pretty sure @Netsuite Tragic is right. Users can create invoices at the same time. If allow override is on, NS will just push it through after the warning.

Thanks Josh, I've warned the customer service staff to keep an eye on it. we rarely create invoices manually like that anyway so hopefully won't be an issue going forward
