Has anyone here moved an existing subsidiary to a new parent? We're testing in SB now and so far we haven't seen any gotchas, but I'm wondering if it's just easier (and...less scary?) to inactivate one and spool up a new one under the new parent. Any thoughts?

you have an option in the General Preference that allows you to change the subsidiary hierarchy within a date range you set. You just need to set the date then you will be able to change the hierarchy with all the prior transactions.

Thanks - yes that's what we're trying in sandbox now...just wondering if there are any hidden traps I should watch out for

If it's an environment with multiple base currencies, there can be some impact to consolidated exchange rates. Wasn't my personal experience, so I'm not sure on the details. Maybe run consolidated balance sheets before and after the move when you test in sandbox

We have multiple base currencies although the subs in question are the same base currency... but great point and I’ll it to the list to review

Hey @Cara Foley, I am facing the same issue, did you try the new function and if so, how did it go?

We're having a few more stakeholders review the reports in Sandbox and sign off, then crossing fingers off to Prod!
