Hi all, I'm trying to delete an item, but it says it has dependent records when it doesn't have any. Any idea how to trace the dependent records or how to bypass the error and delete the item?
l
I'm pretty sure this isn't the only way, but I would create a Saved Search and the only filter being that item, see what comes up and go from there.
k
Any more ideas about htis?
Lee I tried item assemblies, kit and item groups, BOMs, but this item doesn't show up

Are you in as an administrator, it could be that you don't have access to the related records with your role, and it is not showing them to you. This has caught me out a couple of times before.
k
Yep I am. Are there roles where these records would be exclusive even if im admin?
t
Not that I can think of, but I'm no expert
k
same here lol. Im just handling data migration
z
Still open?
k
what do you mean?
z
Not resolved?
k
I guess I can say resolved with setting them as inactive
z
Go to saved search》item》 results 》 item name and parent item
k
Did that already
z
And not resolved?
Can you provide access?

k
Nope. Can't seem to see the related records
I'm not sure that's ethical lol but thanks for the offer

I wonder if it could be limited in a few other places: Is it used on a Workflow? Customer Item Pricing? Criteria of a search. Is the dependent item also Inactive? Do you really have to delete it? Rename it and make Inactive
k
Ideally, the team would love to have it deleted. But yeah I figured setting it to inactive would be faster and wouldn't consume a lot of effort to execute
I'm curious tho if there's a way to find these dependent records that I haven't explored
