any ideas how to fix this gap between the element name and element text on a PDF I tried reducing the width, but then the text gets cut off
s
what doe the code for this section look like? frequently it takes a lot of playing around with different column widths on the td elements to get the layout to work.
o
no code, its not an advaced pdf, just a transaction form pdf

Okay, it is possible to adjust the Left values to shift the elements to the right or left in a classic transaction pdf layout. I think the value is specificed in inches

this is the strange part it keeps cutting of the text

The elements may already bee too far to the right. Try decreasing the value in the Left field. That should shift the block to the left, giving it more space, and moving it closer to the labels.
Which elements are you moving? the labels or the values on the right? I’d try moving the right-hand values to the left, first, and stretching them out to avoid text being cut off.

the values on the right. I want them to be closer to the ones on the left
either way, just to get the values closer together

Okay, when you move them left, try increasing the width so they go all the way to the right hand margin. that should give them more space, and prevent text getting cut off.
you can also try decreasing the font size as well, if it’s still happening
o
yea but im amazed ther is no option to get the two texts closer together
reducin size of the font is a cheap fix, but doable until i find out more
thanks

the classic pdf layouts are tricky in a lot of ways, as you don’t have as much control as with the advanced templates. there are only so many things you can adjust with them. The advanced templates allow for a lot more flexibility, or even some auto-sizing of certain elements.
