Is it possible to use MIN and MAX as formula in a saved search? Using MIN and MAX and () do not work.

I think that MAX and MIN only work in formulas for saved searches if you have a SUM, MAX or MIN summary type... BUT, something else you could try if you're looking for pulling either the largest or smallest value between a set of values, is to try out the functions GREATEST or LEAST.
