So this is kind of a unique question, but I'm curious if anyone here as any insight. So a UPC code should be printed and stand for a single unique product....but what does everyone do with kits. The kit (for example), is sku 1800, which consists of physical part numbers 1800-1 and 1800-2. Do you UPC just the physical products? Or the kit only, or all 3? The complication comes from using a WMS, where every barcode on a product should be unique to the product it's on, and can't stand for a kit. It needs to be able to determine the physical product its on

In NetSuite, you don’t stock a kit, so you would never need to receive or fulfill it. Only the components need to be barcoded.

Correct, that was my through process as well. But I’ve often seen kits listed online with a specific UPC assigned to them, hence the question. I was just wondering how people have been handling the scenario internally.

Really depends on how you sell - if ONLY as a kit, then upc the kit only. If you sell items individually as well as in a kit, then upc all. The latter is what we do.
