Hello !! Does anyone know if SuiteAnalytics Connect ODBC driver also provides access to table SavedSearches and stored procedure CreateSavedSearchSchema , just like these 3rd party vendors provide - https://www.cdata.com/kb/articles/netsuite-saved-searches.rst, http://cdn.cdata.com/help/DNC/odbc/pg_sp-createsavedsearchschema.htm, https://docs.tibco.com/pub/tdv/8.2.0/doc/html/AdapterHelp/index.html#page/AdapterHelp%2Fword-frame_netsuite.33.071.html%23 . I couldn't find that from the ODBC connection though.

@ManiK save yourself money/aggravation and check the above. @Josh_SatoriReporting is the man to chat to.

@darrenhillconsulting - I did already. Unfortunately, they didn't use the ODBC connector; rather builtĀ their our own connector, which am afraid would be a paid version.

Ya, ODBC is on life support. As far as I know about Tactical Connect is, you can export to all sorts of end points for fixed annual cost no?
j
ODBC and Tactical Connect are about the same cost at $5k/year. So no difference there. BUT Tactical Connect takes 15 minutes to implement and gives you access to data via saved searched. ODBC takes an IT army and is limited in data access + fields

I have used the CData SSIS connector in the past. Even though the CDATA connector did support saved search results, the performance was terrible. I'd rather re-build a saved search using SuiteAnalytics Connect ODBC, since the performance of NetSuite's ODBC driver is so much faster (though limited to read-only). If you are using the NetSuite2.com schema, you could fairly easily convert a saved search to valid query for that connector by using the saved search export plugin for Chrome. The filters would need to most conversion, and join columns would need to be converted to table joins, but it really isn't so bad if you have a good grasp of SQL.

I can't compare Tactical Connect, as we never tried it, but we have already heavily invested in using SAC ODBC, and are fine with it.

Hey @Josh_SatoriReporting, can you elaborate on ODBC being limited in data access and fields? I'm using it by looping every table and every field for a full db backup ... i'd be a bit worried if its not the full db schema!? Thanks!

Also, CDATA quoted me in their testimonials without my permission or my employer's permission. We asked them to take it down years ago, but it's still there: https://www.cdata.com/company/testimonials.aspx

There are some record types accessible with saved searches that can't be accessed through SuiteAnalytics Connect. I can't remember which ones off the top of my head, but I know that I have run into it on a few occasions. Not very often, though.
j
^exactly.
d
Any idea what these record types are?

Companies don't tend to document the things their software can't do. I don't think there is any kind of exhaustive list.
