There is a saved search criteria : "Item on any line" (or something like that) - run a saved search that returns all your results - then do a find and replace on your lines within excel for the new item you want to put in. Then do a CSV import using "overwrite sublists" option - and it will wipe it out. Just make sure you capture all relevant fields on the saved search that you need on your lines.
