as far as i know netsute gives you the option to create a custom record form that looks just like a standard transaction record (purchase order, sales order etc). I remember i read that somewhere but i dont know how to create one? Can anyone help me with that?

If you're talking about custom transaction type: Enable first the Custom Transactions feature. To create one, navigate to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Transaction Types.
