As NetSuite support continues to provide little help, I have a couple more questions for the group: 1. Why would custom sales transaction numbers not be searchable in the global search bar for anyone other than an administrator? The global setting/preference for include transaction numbers in global search has been selected, and I have also set that preference on the role level, but still I cannot search by the transaction number. 2. Why a custom field that has both store value and global search set to true cannot be searched on in the global search bar?

1. user's role needs permission to perform search probably
2. if you just created the field or just set it to be global search, it takes time to index

role has permission to perform search, so it's not that 😕. the custom field was created two days ago, so I would think that's plenty of time to Index?

If you checked the "available for global search" after setting field values - it wouldn't be global searchable for those results yet.
You'd need to modify the record and save it.
Also make sure the role has the "find transaction" permission

i don't think I did, I'm pretty sure I marked it as global search upon creating the form, so the field values would have been set after, but I'll edit and give it a try. And yeah, the role has the find transaction permission. Thanks!
