I've turned on inline editing on the results of a saved search but I can't edit any fields and the "New" column doesn't appear. Any ideas? I'm Administrator and Administrator has Full permissions on the record
k
Custom record?
is quick add turned off on the custom record?
c
Also, is this a transaction search? Is the mainline set to "true"?

Custom record with quick add turned off

Remember that 1) Inline editing requires a "Type" restriction be in the criteria. 2) if the new new column isn't appearing when you run the saved search, be sure it's in the "results" section of the saved search. You'll want to "Edit" the search to check on both of these things.

I think you have to turn on quick add in order to be able to have the "new" column
Also - make sure your fields on your preferred form are not inline text or disabled or hidden

Thanks everyone. I will test your ideas tomorrow
@Ricardo I don't know what you mean by a Type restriction. The New column is the autogenerated one that appears in inline edit mode. It's not something one adds as a result column.
@KevinJ of Kansas I've tried with Quick Add enabled but no success. The default form has the fields editable
Fixed it! I needed to check this

Great

Thanks Kevin for making me look again at the form config

I was about out of ideas

And it still works if I uncheck Allow Quick Add

Glad to hear you got it working šŸ™‚
