Hey All. I need some advice on something that should be easy, but have run into a few roadblocks… The bottom line is that I want to update a custom field on an existing customer record. I want to allow a NS customer of ours to signup for a referral program that we are offering. I want them to be able to go to a form on our website and enter name, email address, and a code we send them (this code will actually be their customer record internal ID. Once this info is entered, I simply want to set a custom field on the customer record of their already existing customer record. We use cases for a lot if things, so I was trying to do it through a case form, but couldn’t figure out how to access those case record fields in a lead/customer workflow. Maybe a simple customer form would be cleaner?

SuiteLet set to available without login. On the customer record have a new custom field with some random value in it as a "code". Give the customer this code. When they navigate to the SuiteLet have them enter their details and this "code". If the email / code match a customer record in NS then update your custom field.
Not very sophisticated and not the height of security but for updating a custom field on a customer record I imagine sufficient.

Interesting... I haven't done something like this in a long time, so i'm trying to recall how to enable this on my website.

Simple form based SuiteLet. On GET has two input boxes email / code and a submit button. On POST, search for the relevant customer record, update the custom field and write a new form with a meaningful message for the user. You can use the deployment url in communication so the customer can click through to the SuiteLet.
