I have a user who is missing a subsidiary for the drop down filter on the Trial Balance report. Thoughts on the cause? I can see it.
j
Role without access to that sub?
r
Nope, that sub is selected. The employee only has one role.
What if she never logs out? NetSuite would still periodically log her out, right?
j
yeah, after I think 15 or 30 min of inactivity and a hard session limit of like 12 or 24 hours
browser cache issue?
the 'ol standby of clear cache is a goodie for a reason
oh, also, do you have subsidiary navigator setup/installed? if so they may have restricted themselves to a certain sub

So strange. They can see every sub but one. They have one role which does have the sub enabled. Cleared cache. Logged out and in again. Same issue.
How can I check the subsidiary navigator settings?
j
mmm...I forget offhand, but remember that happened to users at prior places a few times. Would have to SA it. Race ya to it 🏃‍♂️
r
lol when did SA get good? it used to be horrible
j
oh it was always middling. It's just the better you get at knowing their wacky terminology, the easier it gets. IMHO anyway.
so maybe there's a portlet on their dashboard (although they could have removed that). and the other spot you can look is in Home > Set preferences > restrict view.
from the user's login, obvi
r
not that either
j
custom report that is still named "Trial Balance" that excludes that sub?
r
It's there for me.
j
but like is their url the exact same as the one you're running?
r
I didn't check but yes, same navigation.
j
Hmmm...yeah... I'm just grasping at straws here at this point.
r
Ya, very strange
j
well you can always call NS support now that you know they can't help since you haven't been able to figure it out 🤣
but sometimes people like to hear "we have no idea what the problem is" from Oracle
r
Gotta have the user on the line tho... sadblob
j
they're usually pretty good about being able to schedule something if you just let them know, and then you just put something on that person's calendar and invite them to the zoom
r
Ya, good point
j
does exponentially increase resolution time though. fortunately (or maybe unfortunately) no one looks at my jira stats ever.
