Hoping someone could help with a sanity check before I go down another rabbit hole. Our internal projects team has been using Advanced Projects for a little over a year now. I was asked to meet with the PM's as they are getting overwhelmed with all the "manual processes". Although there is a few areas I can easily help with, one is really stumping me. They have projects with anywhere from 30-200 tasks. From everything I see, the tasks are configured properly with predecessors that are Finish-to-Start (FS) (Task starts when preceding task finishes. Start date is adjusted based on the preceding task’s finish date). HOWEVER, when they finish a task, nothing happens to the next task (no date change, no status change, nothing). I assumed that some event would occur so we could setup a reminder or run workflow or scripts or something. Is that not the proper behaviour?

For me, start date and end date are filled in when I create the task. There is no additional automation regarding Status or the date fields. You would need to create a workflow.
