Consolidating Work Orders
Anyone got a good solution to consolidate work orders. We might have 15 WOs for the same Assembly Item (linked to SOs). Rather than create a new WO for Qty 15 and deleting the old ones (then re-linking the SOs), can they be consolidated.? Probably can be achieved via customisation I would have thought?

We made a batching process using a custom record that would batch together multiple work orders for picking
It didn’t help with completing them but would allow us to pick them all at once

You mention re-linking the SOs, are you utilizing Special Work Orders or Supply Allocation to build these links?

Supply allocation is a nice native way to kinda link the supply (WO) to the Demand (SO)

I agree mostly with supply allocation but you don’t have complete control over what supply gets allocated to what demand
For example if you have multiple of the same item shipping on the same day. And multiple WOs to supply that demand you have to trust what the planning engine does for allocations. You cannot manually say WO123 is going to supply SO456
You can only set the preferences and hope the planning engine does what you’d expect

I think we need clarity on what the current process is before offering a solve.

If you are using special order work order, it’s difficult to combine them. Even to break the link I am sure it’s some customization in place, it’s hard to solve it over slack tbh
