Usually in saved searches for transactions I always put main line = true but for this saved search on cash sales the results are empty if i put this criteria if i set it to false I can see the transactions with multiple lines any ideas

Main line = F Tax line = F COGS Line = F Shipping Line = F

try putting those 4 criteria in However if the transaction has multiple lines on it each line will show so you may need to group the results based on the document number
