question: i'm looking for positive on hand inventory that has never sold. any tips on how to build a search on that?
b
i believe you have to use a summary criteria for that
specifically an item search for items grouped by name where the sum of transactions of type sales order is 0
l
Hi @Joshua Lane - this is the item saved search I created to track these items. Hope it helps.
Also created a saved search to identify slow selling items if you are interested.
j
yes very interested!
l
Here you go. This is a transaction saved search. Let me know if you have any questions.
s
if you start joining to transactions then items that aren't on transactions will be kicked out of the results (which are the exact things he is looking for)
l
First one is an item saved search
b
hes referring to the transaction join
i dont think it will really matter since its hard to have quantity on hand without transactions
s
yeah I don't think it should kick them out as long as he leaves transactions out of the criteria
b
i meant that the transaction join related filters should be fine. items that arent on transactions wont have positive inventory on hand
l
We have been using the search and it includes items not in transactions
b
are you sure it includes items not in any transactions
a search with this criteria
has these results
Its missing results without transactions

honestly same thing
have you tried just creating a test item and seeing if it appears in your results?
the related answer https://netsuite.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/38028/ can get items without transactions since it uses summary criteria without adding standard criteria on the transaction join. i wouldnt use the absurd formula it suggests since it cant be created in the ui, but the idea behind it is sound.
