Hello everyone. What solution do you guys recommend for Tax Calculation and Automation? We had a call with Avalara and it looks like a very robust solution. Are there other solutions out there that would be worth looking at before making a decision? Thanks!

Vertex is definitely worth looking into

The answer lies in where you calculate tax and if you are going to be enabled for suitetax. As an existing customer you are probably on legacy. If you go global I would avoid the TR product until you can use suitetax and this is from the guy that helped build it. If US only you can have an affordable solution on avatax. Friends work at vertex and it gets high marks.

The reason we are looking for a tax solution is because we are close to launching SCA and our customer base is end-users (B2C) and initially we will only be shipping within the US. Therefore, we need to be able to calculate correct taxes on the web store and also during sales order creation. Avalara did a great job during the demo and we feel they satisfy all of our needs but we wanted to see what else is out there to compare features and cost.
