We had a user away on leave, took away their license but left the account active. They are now back and we added access back to the account. All of the dashboards etc are wrong, there are some custom menus that are missing, it is showing custom menus for things no longer installed (and throwing errors). Any ideas on the best way to "reset" a users account?
k
Uh... it sounds like perhaps the user needs to turn on the preference for "view classic center"
Otherwise - I'm at a loss - maybe you added the wrong role to the user?
m
I confirmed (multiple times to be sure) that it is the correct role. Its a sales center role, the role has classic interface set to false. ~50 people use this role.
I am not finding a user specific setting for classic center?
I am pretty sure you are on to something, some of the menu's being seen vs not seen look to be driven by classic vs sales. Not sure how to resolve though...

When you remove Access, this completely removes any local personalisation the end-user may have done - this is going to cover dashboards and the "Use Classic Interface" option - when you give the access back, it will just inherit the company preferences and default dashboard for that role.
m
That is how I would expect it to function...and why I am surprised that it seems not to be...
m
Did they customise the dashboard after it was published?
IE: has it gone back to the last published layout?
m
It still looks customized to me, but is possible that the user made changes prior to notifying me that the menu's were wrong
k
It's a user preference on the individuals login
m
Looks like that was it, apparently that setting doesn't get reset when you put the role on a user that had it before 🤷‍♂️
k
in the future - make it "inactive" as opposed to removing access completely - and it will maintain their settings

Good to know. Think this is the first time I have ever had someone out on an extended leave where we opted to steal the license for a new employee. May never encounter it again haha. Thanks for the help guys!
