Good afternoon, I have a simple question about logistics, I have a location in NetSuite, I call it “Non-Sellable” and I use it to move inventory that’s meant to be sent to our clients, I call this Bin “Ready-to-Outbound”, just waiting for external processing to finish and then actually transfer it, but in the meantime I want to “reserve it”. However I also use this “Non-Sellable” location to receive my returns in a bin I called “Returns”. Then I process them and I may move them to other bins in the same location called “Garbage” or “Good Quality Returns”. So my question is, on NetSuite, if I want to complete a transfer out of “Non-Sellable” location, NetSuite will attempt to take inventory from any BIN, in that location, including “Garbage”, “Good Quality Returns” and “Returns”. Is there no way to tell NetSuite “No NetSuite, this BIN in this location should be ignored”. And btw using item status is not an option.

thanks a lot Howard, but I really can not believe NetSuite does not have a Native way to “reserve” the inventory in a location when there are infinite potential real life scenarios where I would require this for every day activities in a physical location.

One step in the right direction would be use the Preferred flag on the desired bin set at the item record.

My suggestion will be digging a deeper hole for you, but couldn't you just make an additional location for your reserves.
