We have new products to be manufactured that will be produced and sold in boxes of fixed x units. Let's say Item A is always produced and sold in boxes of 24 units. I might be overthinking this but I'm just concerned about not being able to change the Units Type anymore and not being able to change the UOM in the Work Order (always in base units). Our options: 1. Use EACH as unit type and UOM. Users understand that 1 each is equivalent to a box of x units depending on the item. My concern here is that in the future should we purchase, sell, consume or build in new quantities (not likely at this point), it would result in fractions or decimals. Using Item A above, if we sell 18 units, then we should enter 0.75 each in the SO which is kind of odd to me. 2. Use EACH as the base unit but have different conversions for boxes such as Box of 24 (24 units), Box of 12 (12 units), etc. This will address my concern about decimals or fractions because we can switch to EACH or to a different box if already existing. I'm leaning towards option 2 but I'm interested in what others think. Thank you.
