Don't want to derail... please add thread replies if better: If you've created a custom sublist based on a saved search, which is displaying custom records (I have this on my item records showing the custom records (materials) which are children of the item)... can I have a quick "Add" button that allows me to quickly add new materials (child items)? I added a field which is sourcing from these as a workaround for now and I can click the plus or "add new" in that field to trigger the pop-up. The only issue with this workaround is that the pop-up isn't defaulting the "Item" field of the parent and that has to be manually selected. This isn't a problem in testing but will be once I have 20k something items uploaded in production. Thoughts or ideas along the lines of making the pop-up associate to the parent item record being edited/created by default?

establish a parent-child relationshiip by marking the
Record is Parent
checkbox on your item select field

Right this approach can supersede your custom sublist+search approach. Child records are automatically displayed in a list on the parent record, and there will already be a native "Add" button

Ah, much appreciated!
I didn't see that it was moved under the sneaky "Custom" subtab.
