depends on the record type. example searching at the top for an inventory item, (cause you know you had it at one point, but want to sanity check yourself if it's been inactivated) would be to add a "+" after the name. Example: "inv:item key words" will only give you active ones that match, whereas "inv:item key words+" will give you the previous results, plus inactive ones
