@Dashona Yes, I can see how users can select between their prod role and a duplicate sb role but when I add a role to their account, only the prod role is created for them.
d
@UCN Guy You're logged in to SB when you are adding the role to their employee record?
u
Well that must be the problem. I used to just log into https://system.sandbox.netsuite.com in the past but that page no longer exsts. Someone told me I was able to grant SB access through the Prod account now. I assume that is not true.
d
No, you have to be logged into the SB first then grant the access and roles to others
They did away with the separate URL in the last release I believe
s
there is still a separate URL schema for sandboxes sort of. New URL schema is Prod - account_id.app.netsuite.com and Sandbox - account_id-sb#.app.netsuite.com #= denote sandbox numbers if there are more than one sandbox

Yes, I was able to get that far in Suite Answers earlier but when I log in to either account, it just takes me to my production account. The bottom line is as an Admin, I can't even get in to get myself SB access, let alone others.

@UCN Guy have u tried different browsers? And, if you are the original admin and not a custom admin -- that might make a difference. Otherwise that sounds like a support issue, because support had to provide access to sandbox accounts when you initially get it
u
Yeah, I tried Firefox and Chrome with no luck. I am not the original Admin as I am new to this project but have requested access from the one that is. That should do it. Thanks everyone who jumped in to help.
s
original admin has to give you access to you from the SB end
u
Makes sense. Thanks.

Definitely look up the SuiteAnswers articles about the changes to the account structure. There's some very helpful information there, since you are coming from the "old" way.
