Our account rep at NS has said she has very few upstate NY clients, and no others in our area. Considering we are in the state capital, that's surprising. But they don't call it Smallbany for nothing.

I know one decent size company in Albany that uses NetSuite.

Interesting! Well, I think it is growing in popularity. They must have a different account rep than we do. She said she had most of the upstate NY businesses, but obviously not all of them. It would be nice to get an upstate NY users group started.
I heard that Beekman 1802 is adopting NetSuite now. They hired our former controller and are doing an implementation. They are fairly close to Albany (Schenectady, I think)

If you're looking to get a user group started this might be helpful for session ideas. It's the deck from the last Boston NetSuite User Group (publicly available on the group's website)

Thanks! First, we actually need to have enough companies/people for a group. If more companies in this area adopt Netsuite, that may actually happen. Albany is no Boston, though they keep trying to promote the idea that this is the "Tech Valley": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tech_Valley

I'm sure they will. I've noticed adoption of NetSuite tends to come in spurts, geographically speaking. I hadn't heard that moniker (not originally native to the East) but I actually like that idea. I have noticed self-fulling prophecies tend to be pretty strong

TWEC, which is located in Albany, uses NetSuite for their online sales and item managment.

Ah, yes. A recruiter called me a year or two ago representing them, saying they were looking for someone with my skillset (now I know why). I was told they run the f.y.e. stores, but have other areas they are expanding into. I declined, since it would have been an even longer commute for me.

Yeah they own a company out on the west coast now that I used to work for and they have used NetSuuite since 2015ish?
s
Good to know. Seems like half the people I know have ended up moving to the west coast, mainly the San Francisco - San Jose - Oakland area, for work. I don't care for hot weather much, so if I ever moved to the west coast it would have to be further north.
