Woof. I second the Th3VanMan's opinion that the use case you're describing doesn't really sound like projects. And more generally, the projects module can be a a challenge. I've been doing NetSuite admin/implementation for 12 years, and the projects module is my second-most-hated one to implement after contract renewals. It's definitely not something that I would want to pick up as a "very new to NetSuite" person as it is not super intuitive and often doesn't fit most non-typical use cases easily without a lot of customization (in which case, why not just build what you want instead of customizing an existing thing you have to pay for?). But just my opinion, YMMV.
