Is it possible to use Outsourced Manufacturing for assembly items with bins? When receiving the outsourcing PO, it does require a bin when receiving in our warehouse location although we have a preferred bin in the Assembly record. Also, for raw materials sent to the subcontractor, do we really need to create manually an Inventory Transfer/TO, so that they will be moved to the outsourcing location?

Yes the outsourced mfg functions only automated about half of the process. Both transfer orders need to be setup manually and managed manually. Kind of a bummer. But if you are outsourcing a lot of items it kind of makes sense to have the transfer process managed independently (even though it’s a pain)

Got it. Thank you. Do you also know how we can designate the bins when receiving the assembly in our warehouse location (not outsourcing location)? I guess I'll encounter the same issue for lot numbered and serial numbered. Even if I change the location in the Item Receipt to warehouse location and click on Assembly Build Helper, it still does not allow me to assign a bin because the location there is still the outsourcing location.
