hi all - hope to pick your brains on this since ARM is one of the modules i'm not super familiar with. i had mentioned to our revenue team that we shouldn't change revenue dates on a revenue arrangement (RA) after rev rec has started/is in progress. now the team is trying to figure out how to handle bad debt - have a situation where there's an RA for 10k and 5k is already recognized, but now it's been determined that the customer is not going to pay the invoice. we can generate a credit memo for the remaining 5k, but want to wipe the RA off the books now. revenue team is thinking of editing the end dates on the RA to recognize everything this month, but what is the impact of doing so? i was previously told that revenue dates shouldn't change once rev rec has started hence my advice to them, but i'd love to get some input
