05/09/2019, 6:09 PMIt depends on your company's needs. I've been both an Admin and now a consultant and it really depends on whether you have a big enough need to justify a full time employee vs an as needed consultant. Also depends on whether you can find an Admin to hire.

05/09/2019, 7:37 PMI am a little bit different than your typical consultant so I feel that I have the best of both worlds, I don't have to travel that often because I focus on companies in my area. I essentially act in the place of an admin for companies that don't have the requirement or budget to have a full time employee.

05/10/2019, 10:22 PM20% is probably about the minimum for most consultant jobs. Many are up to 80% or higher. There are a few where you can get lucky like Marissa mentioned and have little or no travel.
Tradeoff is higher pay generally and more jobs available. Lots of the companies running NetSuite are not big or complex enough to need a NetSuite admin (some IT guy just inherits that function) so the number of those jobs is fairly limited.
