I am looking to add a simple field to an inventory item form, for example, "new item A" - where I can choose another item (say item b) from our list of inventory items that is related to my new item A, and that reference/related item "b" can be clicked on and taken to directly from my item A

Item Fields > Type = List > List = Item

You may create parent item A and Sub item B
