Anyone had success disabling the "Override" capability for addresses? Causes so many problems.

Can you customize the address form and hide that field?

Cant you hide the field on the form?

Jinx?

Address forms are a little different than the rest of the standard forms. I don't see it here to turn off, and there isn't the typical 'Move Elements...' either.

What about custom script attached to the form to disable it? I normally never suggest that but the address form is available in so many places that's the only reliable way I can think of for doing it.

Yeah, I'm usually hesitant to do that too, but sounds like it might be the only way. Here's a thing that happened: The user created a Custom Shipping Address on a sales order and filled out the override address with the correct NV address and somehow managed to fill in the WA billing address in the structured fields. The order looked like it was going to NV, but our integration with 3PL uses the structured fields and the shipment went to WA.

you should be able to attach a client script on the address form to disable the field. I believe it is 1 address form for each country

I had to disable that field on the form with a client script for the same reason, couldn’t find any other way to get at it
