Anyone have any idea about how strongpoint works under the hood? how they are able to get all custom fields IDs, descriptions, help, etc and also able to know when a field changed etc to automatically generate or create a documentation or log?

I never looked closely at the scripts because there are 100+ but it's mostly lots and lots of MRs. I would assume they're using System Notes. I seem to remember having to add an audit log to scripts for them to be recognized by Strongpoint but that may have changed.

The company I was at at the time mainly bought it for the ERD, to find customizations related to fields. Overall though, I did not find the ERD to be accurate circa 2018. Very impressive what it could do, but ultimately unreliable. I know it supposedly does a lot of change management things and automated documentation which could be valuable. I couldn't say.

We use StrongPoint for ITGC change management and SOD conflict resolution. As already mentioned a bunch of MR scripts, custom records, mass update scripts, and workflows

Uhmm interesting, so no magic at the end, good to know. Thanks.

I doubt anyone except NetSuite can do magic. We all rely on scripts and custom objects.

The real magic happens because of the people running the enterprise since any tool is pretty useless without those who know how to "wield the sword"... 😉

@Eric B I don't use a bike lock on my tallbike because if you can ride it away, it's yours. I call it excalibur.

There's an admin spider that needs to run on the dashboard. Make sure you have that showing for when you log in so it can run.
