BOM question - we always have subassemblies marked as phantom, but we have one case now where we want to show the subassembly as a line item but we do not want it to consume the components of the subassembly, we have a second manufacturer that will be making the board and we won't own the components they use. Having a hard time figuring that out - anyone know?

This could be wrong but maybe a special PO attached to the line on the workorder?
a
@Richard Tanner, thanks! We will be issuing the PO's for the subassembly independently of the WO., we just want it to show as an item on the WO but not consume any of it's components.

This should just be a regular purchased assembly. Leave it as non-phantom and cut a PO for it

You may select there source as stock and don't mark sub-assembly as phantom.
